ADDITIONAL HINTS AND TIPS FOR USING SPA MAGIC

1. When putting Spa Magic into the spa water, adjust PH first. Remember to check the PH of your tap water first. Then you know where you are starting from. Adjust the water PH a little at a time, keep checking it as you go until you get the PH between 8.0 and 8.4. Remember that baking soda will raise the PH and apple vinegar will lower the PH.


2. Spa Magic solution contains positively charged ions. Your tub's surface has a negative charge. These charges will eventually bond and you will notice a slight film develop on the surface of your tub. The benefit of this bonding is that, it creates a natural lubricant within your spa, coating your heating element, pump, seals, and your spa plumbing, allowing your tub's equipment to work more efficiently and last longer. All that you need to do is wipe the inside of your tub with a clean cloth or sponge to break this bond.


3. At times you may experience an organic smell. This simply means Spa Magic has found contaminants and is working to eliminate them. This may also suggest that your filter requires more frequent cleaning. Make sure the PH of the spa water is between 8.0 to 8.4. Check to make sure the underside and inside of the spa cover has been cleaned. If the odor is still present after 24 hours, putting two ounces of chlorine in the spa water should eliminate the odor.


4. We do not recommend using fragrances of any kind with Spa Magic because they may not be compatible.


5. Spa Magic is compatible with ozonators, chlorine, and bromine.


6. If your spa system has a high build-up of contaminates or a high concentration of Bromine in the spa's tub, piping, heater, and pump housing; it may be necessary to use twice as much Penetrating Spa Cleanser and run the system for a longer period of time in order to make sure the system is clean.


7. If your water gets cloudy use a water clarifier, if the water still does clear up or has a smell to it you can usually eliminate the problem by putting some Clorox in the water. Clorox is compatible with Spa Magic and will not harm your tub. For a 250 gallon tub, use quart of Clorox and for a 500 gallon tub, use 2 quarts. Let the tub vent and the chlorine in the Clorox will evaporate in two to three days. Note: Clorox is a strong chemical, so do not use the tub until all the chlorine in the Clorox has evaporated.


8. Cloudy water may be caused by frequent use by a large number of bathers, deodorants, oils, lotions, sunscreen, or other products used on the skin or soap residues in bathing suits. To clear up cloudy water:
   • Make sure spa users and bathing suits are as clean as possible.
   • Make sure the filter has been rinsed with hot water.
   • Make sure the filtration system runs at least 6 to 8 hours a day.
   • Four to six ounces of water clarifier can be used to speed up recovery time.
   • Be patient. The spa water will clear up and does not have to be drained if the water is cloudy, Spa Magic just needs some time to do its job.


9. When using Penetrating Spa Cleanser run the spa for 5 to 6 days, if you have been using bromine run your spa 6 to 10 days. Some tubs run for a short time on their cycle, you may have to change the cycle on your tub to make it run longer, or add a few extra days on. Bromine is especially difficult to remove from the spa system, so be patient, our Penetrating Spa Cleanser will remove it.


10. Clean the spa filter with the Penetrating Spa Cleanser as well, so that the spa system will not be contaminated with material left in the filter.


11. When wiping down your spa, use our Penetrating Spa Cleanser or use baking soda in a bucket to clean your tub out.

• Standard Water Clarifier: To clear water
• Clorox: To eliminate unwanted organisms and odors
